Going back to basics with one of trap’s luminaries

Those of us who remember trap in its electronic infancy – circa 2012 – recall the likes of Flosstradamus, TNGHT and UZ repurposing early 2000s Dirty South-style hip-hop.

It was repurposed into something that felt fresher than the dubstep that had started saturating the scene. Where dubstep as a movement simmered for almost a decade before reaching critical mass, trap went nuclear almost overnight in comparison.
